ASSISTANT MANAGER (GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN)

Reporting to the Group Trading Manager working across our 4 fast paced import and distribution companies this highly visible role will be varied and ever changing.

 

We are looking for an experienced person to work across our shipping, purchasing and administration teams.  You will make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the department in support of the Group Trading Manager and on a day to day basis you will:

  • Work collaboratively across departments with a hands on approach to identifying and resolving issues as and when they arise.
  • Administrate departmental processes, including quality systems and standards.
  • Improve the availability and quality of KPI and management data, including reports, for decision-making purposes.
  • Oversee the International Supply Chain and its day to day management, from creation of PO, expedition of shipments and arrival management, within business operational and commercial constraints. This includes the early identification of issues for both escalation and resolution – both internally and externally.
  • Support the compliance of the Group’s International Supply Chain in terms of Customs and other Regulatory legislations.
  • Work with the Group Trading Manager on wider business projects including identification and execution of strategic requirements, implementation and change.

 

Experience within global supply chain would be advantageous, as would an understanding of Customs Legislation and the impact of BREXIT on logistics and trade between the UK and EU markets.

  • Forward thinking with the flexibility and capability to work toward changing goals and deadlines.
  • Solve problems independently and tenaciously in a commercial manner
  • Open communication with the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Awareness of team development needs.
  • Competent to quickly pick up ERP systems
