Operations Manager (Tilbury)

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our warehouse team and make an immediate contribution to our business.

Role Objective:

Drive links in depot between the sales, warehouse and transport teams to deliver next day service whilst maintaining the efficiency of our operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse

  • Promote and ensure compliance with company policies & procedures
  • Effective and efficient organisation and management of day to day tasks within the warehouse
  • Manage and maintain fork lift truck schedule for maintenance, servicing and repairs
  • Follow company procedures in relation to reporting incidents for insurance purposes.
  • Design, implement and develop initiatives and systems to ensure best practice.
  • Implement and develop initiatives to effectively reduce costings and then maintain them
  • Responsibilities for all stock both in and out.
  • Assist in stock taking when required
  • Ensure consistent high standards of quality within the operation. 

Staff

  • Maintain open and effective two way communication with all warehouse staff, drivers and internal staff
  • Ensure that any training is completed in a timely manner and record’s are maintained.
  • Plan staff attendance to ensure appropriate cover is maintained and manage all aspects of cost attributed to them to it.
  • Ensure returns to work interviews are conducted on a timely basis.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with all relevant Health and safety standards and regulations and company policy as notified from time to time.
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of procedures and relevant H&S data.
  • Work with the other Operations Managers to ensure that all aspects of H&S are adhered to including FLT competence certificates, FLT inspections, rack checks etc.
  • Action accident and near miss reporting.
  • Support the maintenance of H&S standards on site in conjunction with the Depot Manager, HR and external H&S consultants. 

Quality

  • Act in accordance with quality assurance processes.
