In areas where there is a higher than average risk of fire, or in buildings such as cinemas, theatres, libraries, schools, offices, hotel foyers and hospitals, flame retardant panels should be a consideration. The incorporation of flame retardant products in a building will help to suppress the spread of fire, allowing safe evacuation of the occupants and reducing financial loss.

MEDITE PREMIER FR (Flame Retardant) Euro class B & C are MDF panels developed specifically for use in situations where a Euroclass B or a Euroclass C flame retardant board is required under building regulations.

MEDITE PREMIER FR Euroclass B & C (EN 13823 and EN 11925-2) is manufactured under an NSAI registered I.S. EN ISO 9001 quality management system.

To meet the European classifications, the rate of fire growth, total heat release, smoke production and burning droplets are measured by testing samples of the products to EN 13823 (The SBI test) and EN 11925-2 (The SFI test) and, for wood-based panels, classified as Euroclass B or C in accordance with BS EN13501-1. Euroclass B is a higher technical class than Euroclass C and, therefore by definition, if material conforms to Euroclass B then it will exceed the requirements for Euroclass C. The fire performance commonly required in high risk areas such as external cladding within 1m of a boundary, escape routes and staircases is Euroclass B.
